The Challenge
Today, UK Regulators of the water industry place emphasis
on using risk-based strategies as the basis for decisions on
intervention, whether these are managerial, policy or scheme.
Southern Water needed to introduce a risk-based asset management
programme across its sites.
Our Solution
From 1999-2000, BV was appointed to review the asset management
programme for facilities maintenance covering 3,000 sites for
Southern Water. This work included the development of a risk
based programme for the replacement of high-maintenance features
with low-maintenance alternatives. It also entailed the development
of site classification ratings for overall management of the
programme.
