SOUTHERN WATER DISTRIBUTION ZONE STUDY
The Challenge
Today, UK Regulators of the water industry place emphasis
on using risk-based strategies as the basis for decisions on
intervention, whether these are managerial, policy or scheme.
Southern Water needed to know the short term reliability of
their infrastructure based upon recent defect information,
but did not have up-to-date information or the means to undertake
a risk assessment.
Our Solution
BV has developed an asset reliability risk methodology, which
it utilised with respect to the Southern Water Distribution
Zone Study. All pumps, pipes and other assets in the study
area were surveyed, together with condition survey information.
The resulting data was then used as the basis of a risk based
analysis, determining the short term reliability of the infrastructure.
