COUNTRYSIDE ACCESS RESTRICTIONS CASEWORK SYSTEM
The Challenge
The Countryside and Rights of Way Act, 2000 has generated
the need for stakeholders to manage and have access to a considerable
quantity of casework for exclusions and restrictions on access.
BV were asked to develop the Requirements specification for
a £4M web-based system for managing land restrictions
on Open Country.
Our Solution
The project included leading requirements-gathering workshops
with the Countryside Agency and Forestry Commission, developing
business use cases, and process re-engineering and design incorporating
e-GIF standards.
A key component of the project was to interpret and analysis
complex, draft regulations from DEFRA covering the restrictions
regime. Our feedback on the draft regulations highlighted process
inconsistencies and made a number of recommendations for change.
Output from the project, in the form of a Statement of Requirements
has been used by the Countryside Agency to formulate their
tender documentation, issued under G-CAT.
