Len C. Rodman

After graduating from Iowa State University with a degree in Civil Engineering, Len Rodman joined Black & Veatch in 1971. In the ensuing years, he served as process designer, project engineer, and project manager for more than 50 municipal water, wastewater, and industrial wastewater treatment projects. He was named an Executive Partner of the firm's Environmental Group and later became a Managing Partner. He was named CEO and President in 1998 and added the role of Chairman of the Board in 2000, succeeding P. J. Adam.

Karen L. Daniel

Karen L. Daniel

Karen Daniel is Chief Financial Officer for Black & Veatch. Daniel graduated from Northwest Missouri State University and received her MS degree in accounting from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. She spent 11 years with the certified public accounting firm of KPMG Peat Marwick, rising to Senior Audit Manager. She joined Black & Veatch in 1992 with the internal audit group and was named CFO in 1999. In her role as CFO, she is responsible for developing and executing business strategies, and as President of Black & Veatch's Finance Division, leads the global finance organization. Daniel was elected to her first term on the Black & Veatch Board of Directors in 2006. She also serves as a board member for Snap-On Incorporated (NYSE: SNA); the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation; the Board of Regents of Northwest Missouri State University; and is a trustee for the Midwest Research Institute, an independent, not-for-profit research organization.

Daniel W.  McCarthy

Daniel W. McCarthy

Dan McCarthy became President and CEO of B&V Water in 2005, where he oversees the company's water business on a global basis. McCarthy earned his Civil Engineering degree from Iowa State University in 1975 and later received his Masters degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Kansas in 1982. Since joining Black & Veatch in 1976, he has served in roles as design engineer and project manager for both traditional and engineering, procurement, and construction projects. He has also served as manager for B&V Water's Midwest Region, with progressive leadership responsibilities in a variety of management roles, including President of the B&V Water Americas Division. McCarthy was elected to his first term on the Black & Veatch Board of Directors in 2006. He also serves as a board member for the American Water Works Association.

O.H. (Dean) Oskvig

O.H. (Dean) Oskvig
President and CEO of B&V Energy

Dean Oskvig became President and CEO of B&V Energy in 2006, where he oversees the company's energy business on a global basis. Oskvig earned his Civil Engineering degree from the University of Iowa in 1972, and later received his MBA from the University of Utah. Since joining Black & Veatch in 1975, he has served as project manager and partner-in-charge on a variety of global energy and telecommunications projects with increasing leadership responsibilities in a variety of management roles, including Chief Operating Officer of B&V Energy. Oskvig was elected to his first term on the Black & Veatch Board of Directors in 2006.

T. M. (Don) Buck

T. M. (Don) Buck

Fluor Daniel

Don Buck joined the Black & Veatch Board of Directors in 2000 following a 26-year career with Fluor Daniel. As the head of Fluor Daniel Construction Company from 1993 to 1999, he was responsible for the construction aspects of all Fluor Daniel projects worldwide. He was a member of the Board of Trustees for the National Center for Construction Education and Research as well as a member of the Technical Association of the Pulp and Paper Industry. He began his career with EBASCO Services and later moved to Algernon-Blair Industrial Contractors before joining Fluor Daniel. He has worked on projects in the pulp and paper, refining, petrochemical, power, and telecommunications industries. He currently is employed as Chairman & CEO of Institutional Resources in Greenville, SC. The company is the program manager for the $1 billion school building program for the Greenville County School District.

W. P. (Pat) Campbell

Pat Campbell joined the Black & Veatch Board of Directors in 1999 following a successful stint as Executive Vice President of Corporate Strategy and Business Development for Ameritech. During his career, Campbell held senior management positions with SCM Corporation, McGraw Edison, and North American Philips Corporation. More recently, he served as President of RCA / Columbia Pictures International and later Columbia TriStar Home Video. Currently, he is an independent consultant in the telecom and media industries.

Anthony G. (Tony) Fernandes

Anthony G. (Tony) Fernandes
Former Chairman, President and CEO of Philip Services Corp.

Tony Fernandes joined the Black & Veatch Board of Directors in 1999. He formerly served as Chairman, President and CEO of Philip Services Corp., a North American industrial services and integrated metals recovery provider headquartered in Chicago, Ill. Prior to Philip Services Corp., Fernandes had a 30-year career with the Atlantic Richfield Company (ARCO) and retired as an Executive Vice President in 1999. He was a member of the ARCO BOD, Chairman of ARCO Chemical Company, a NYSE company 80% owned by ARCO, and also President of ARCO Coal, a subsidiary of ARCO, from 1990 to 1994. Fernandes serves as a Board member for Baker Hughes Inc., Cytec Industries and Tower Automotive.

Martha W. Gilliland

Senior Fellow, RAND Corporation's Council for Aid to Education in New York City

Martha W. Gilliland joined the Black & Veatch Board of Directors in 2004. Dr. Gilliland was Chancellor of the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) from 2000-2005. She holds a doctorate in environmental engineering / systems ecology from the University of Florida. She has held engineering faculty positions as well as executive positions at the University of Arizona, Tulane University and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She is currently engaged on the President's Council of Advisors for Science and Technology (appointed by George W. Bush) and consulting with The Abraham Path Initiative at Harvard University. She also is currently a Senior Fellow at the Council for Aid to Education, a subsidiary of the RAND Corporation in New York City.

H.P. Goldfield

H.P. Goldfield joined the Black & Veatch Board of Directors in 2002. He currently is the Vice Chairman and Executive Vice President of Stonebridge International LLC, a global business strategy firm based in Washington, D.C., founded by Sandy Berger, former National Security Advisor to President Clinton. Goldfield also serves as a Senior International Advisor to the law firm of Hogan & Hartson LLP, where he is responsible for international trade and transactional activities on behalf of major U.S. and foreign clients. He is on the Boards of Directors of The Middle East Institute and The Israel Policy Forum.

Joseph Nemec, Jr., joined the Black & Veatch Board of Directors in 2000. He has more than 35 years of management consulting experience. Prior to joining Booz Allen in 1970, he was an assistant professor of engineering at McGill University in Montreal, Canada.

Steven H. Wunning

Steven H. Wunning
Group President and Executive Officer for Caterpillar Inc.

Steven Wunning joined the Black & Veatch Board of Directors in 2004. Wunning is a group president and Executive Office member of Caterpillar Inc., the world's largest manufacturer of construction and mining equipment, diesel and natural gas engines, and industrial gas turbines. He oversees the operations of six divisions. He has an undergraduate degree in Metallurgical Engineering from the University of Missouri at Rolla and an Executive MBA from the University of Illinois. He is a member of the Board of Trustees of Proctor Hospital in Peoria, Illinois; a member of the Board of Trustees of Manufacturers Alliance/MAPI in Arlington, Virginia; a member of the Board of Directors of Kennametal Inc. in Latrobe, Pennsylvania; a member of the Board of Governors for the American Red Cross in Washington, D.C.; and a member of the University of Missouri-Rolla, Dean’s Advisory Council in Rolla, Missouri.
